The Personal Productivity Show #001 (MP3 – 14.4MB – 41min 48sec)
In this first episode, Des and I chat about our own personal current approach to getting things done and we interview Tony Goodson about what it’s like being a mindmapping guru! We talk about Activewords and MindManager and Microsoft Outlook and Acer Tablet PC’s and “Getting Things Done“.
It’s all good.
Enjoy!

Hi, Great show and look forward to more.
Regarding Tony’s comment on the large graphic limitation when linking Outlook tasks to MindManager I may have a solution. I use this combination for my tasks but I link from MindManager to Outlook to create the Task not from Outlook to MindManager.
If you create a topic on you map then add any field from the MindManager Task Info pane (or even a Task Complete % map marker will do) when you sync the map with Outlook that topic will be created as a task. None of the big graphics you get linking from Outlook to MindManager but it behaves exactly the same as a sync’d task. You do see a tool-tip like summary on the topic with date, resource and category if they are used but can toggle them on/off with View(menu)>Show/Hide>Task Information. The good thing is these linked tasks are bi directional so changing % done on the map changes Outlook & vice versa (and any other field).
To see this have a look at the post on my Blog titled “Mind Managing your day ~ Part 2″. I’ve entered the permalink as my “website” on this comment so just click that link.

[...] I am happy to announce that Tony Goodson is taking over hosting duties on The Productivity Show! Des and I just haven’t had time (ironic, I know Alanis) to ‘get it done’ over the last six months, so I’m glad someone is taking it over. Tony has been listening to G’Day World and TPN since the very beginning. I remember having coffee with him in the city early in the history of G’Day World when he tried to convince me that I was the new Parky (Tony’s a pom). It’s fitting that Tony is taking over this show as he was our guest on the very first one we did, way back in June 2005. Welcome to TPN, Tony! [...]
