The Personal Productivity Show #017

The Personal Productivity Show #017 (MP3 - 17MB - 48min)

LISTEN TO THE PODCAST HERE

Cameron is away on a well earned break, so I flew solo on this episode.

  • Started off talking about a common issue at this time of year, which Teri Pitman calls Productivity Meltdown
  • This time of year is a common time to be a bit out of control, but the quieter period many of us have coming up is a great opportunity to get things back on track for the new year - clean up your inboxes, review your projects lists, brainstorm for new ones and rethink the optimal time for a weekly review.
  • Also a good time to review your personal productivity methodology
  • If you haven’t read Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity by David Allen, now is a good time to acquaint yourself with GTD
  • Played a segment from the Gadget Show Episode 33 where Richard Giles had a rant about email abuse, and 9 tips to be more productive with email
  • Check out interviews with David Allen on the Gadget Show and also on Episode 003 of the Personal Productivity Show
  • Going to talk about Web 2.0 (AJAX) Desktops in a future show, so leave a comment to let us know which of these you use, and how they figure into your personal productivity routine
  • Also talked about Firefox version 1.5 - and how it extensability is great. Some of my favourite extensions include del.icio.us, LiveLines, IE View, BlogJet This and Foxmarks.

We’ll be trying to get in at least one more episode before New Years, so hope you have fun in cleaning up for 2005 and preparing for a productive 2006.

Hey there. Listened to show. Was looking at some FF extensions mentioned. You talk about BlogJet This. Yet any extension I find doesn’t work with FF v1.5. Am I missing something? (Quite possible….the Livelines ext. off the bloglines site wasn’t v1.5 capable…had to find that off “a workshop in a mess” blog)

    Thanks.

Hi Dave. Thanks for the comment. To get the latest BlogJet This extension that works with Firefox 1.5, you need to upgrade to Blogjet 1.61.

    Hope this helps
