[...] As I sit here this morning doing my GTD Weekly Review (before my Productivity Buddy Michael Specht emails me to tell me he’s done his), I am impressed with my new Moleskine (yes, I’m still doing the Moleskine thing and LOVING it… quite the obsession) pen - the BIC Grip Roller. I think I picked this one up at Officeworks last week and they are inexpensive, fat, nice grip and, most importantly for the Moleskine, they dry VERY fast. The other pens I’ve been using over the last couple of months tend to smudge and blur if I don’t leave the page open for a few minutes after writing. And as I’m usually scribbling down notes and then shutting the book, it ends up looking very messy indeed. [...]

Well, as listeners of The Productivity Show already know, I finally broke last week and have abandoned technology as my primary productivity tool in favour of a Moleskine. The one I’m using is a large lined notebook. And okay, there is something strangely primitive-yet-seductive about writing, with a real pen, on real paper. You got me. It’s just like a Tablet PC but strangely different. It doesn’t take ten minutes to boot. I don’t need to calibrate the book each time I use it. The battery life is pretty good, the fan is quiet, and it doesn’t get too hot on my lap. It doesn’t make any loud booting up noise when I open it in a café. The screen resolution is pretty good in sunlight. And I don’t need to synch it between multiple PCs and PDAs. I won’t get separate out of date versions of my task list appearing in multiple folders scattered across my PC. [...]

[...] Miriam needs a Productivity Buddy to help her stay on track with her GTD weekly review. Des and I came up with the idea of the Productivity Buddy ™ system while recording our Productivity podcast last month. Basically you buddy up with someone and make sure you keep each other on track with your weekly reviews. I’ve been working with Michael Specht as my buddy for the last few weeks and it’s working great. Michael calls me each Monday morning about 9.30 after he’s done his weekly review. That motivates him to do it and reminds me to do mine. We’re also in each other’s Skype list and can ping each other during the week to touch base on how we are tracking. It’s like having someone to go to the gym with every morning or having a "sponsor" in AA. [...]

If you're springing for a bookkeeper, spring for a lawyer to look at your important corporate documents. You obviously figured out that it's important to do it right on the front end. Those form documents are better than nothing, but using them alone can't be considered "doing it right."

every tried out svn??

http://subversion.tigris.org/

very good for programming and if you are using files and modifiying, just run update when you need it updated or commit when you change pc's. also keeps backup versions.

if it crashes and you wanted it back again, just drag and drop the folder client info into another drive and it just works. with the right software like TortoiseSVN

[...] Well, as listeners of The Productivity Show already know, I finally broke last week and have abandoned technology as my primary productivity tool/s in favour of a Moleskine. [...]

I've also experienced the "technology letdown". Instead of a Moleskine, I simply use a 3 subject spiral notebook as my collection tool - using one subject for Next Actions, one for meeting notes, and the third for telephone notes.

I've recently switched to a really useful and _usable_ online service for my GTD system, it's called Tracks - http://www.rousette.org.uk/projects/

Also, take a look at Tiddlywiki (http://tiddlywiki.com/) and the GTD flavor at http://shared.snapgrid.com/gtd_tiddlywiki.html
Here's a description from the Tiddlywiki site:
"Welcome to TiddlyWiki, a free MicroContent WikiWikiWeb created by JeremyRuston and a busy Community of independent developers. It's written in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to run on any modern browser without needing any ServerSide logic. It allows anyone to create personal Self-Contained hypertext documents that can be posted to a WebServer, sent by email or kept on a USB thumb drive to make a WikiOnAStick. It also makes a great GuerillaWiki. This is revision 2.0.11 of TiddlyWiki, and is published under an OpenSourceLicense."
